    Woh! I haven't been on here in a while! I think these end up on facebook too if I remember right. So hello facebook crew as well (ha ha!)

    Well, I am on my third month of extra long summer vacation before heading up to Dayton, Ohio! It's been a blast. I've taken a couple really fun trips, gotten to play with lots of kids (a new adventure for Dusty Dodge - ha ha) and just sit around the house (which is fun most of the time - being a very busy oriented person I getting slightly stir crazy sometimes - Ahhhhhhhhhh! ... ok I'm done). It's also been quite a growing experience for me to say the least.  I am ever amazed at the faithfulness of the Lord. Our sovereign God is always good. I was listening to a sermon from Kyle Dunn, college pastor in Waco and he said something that has really stuck with me this summer. Referring to "Grown-Up World" Kyle said,

    Don't view God in light of your circumstances, but view your circumstances in light of God.

    What a fresh perspective this has been for me. God is worthy of our trust, our praise and our lives. Heading out to Ohio promises many changes which occasionally lead me to have an anxious heart, but I know God is preparing things for me even now, so for that I am excited and at ease.

    I am studying for the GRE as well. Just trying to get it out of the way in case an opportunity to get my masters comes up. Turns out there's words out there that nobody ever uses that are essential for someone going to grad school. Words like contiguous, assiduous, or cacophony. It makes a math guy like me wish he were cleaning toilets instead. Ha ha. =) But it's coming along very well I think.

    Those of you who are back in school I hope you have a blessed start to the year! I miss you guys! Keep in touch!

    Well, till next time... (which at my rate, may be a while...who knows)

    God Bless. =)

    In Christ alone my hope is found
    He is my light, my strength, my song
    This Cornerstone, this Solid Ground
    Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
    What heights of love, what depths of peace
    When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
    My Comforter, my All in All
    Here in the love of Christ I stand

    In Christ alone, who took on flesh
    Fullness of God in helpless babe
    This gift of love and righteousness
    Scorned by the ones He came to save
    Til on that cross as Jesus died
    The wrath of God was satisfied
    For every sin on Him was laid
    Here in the death of Christ I live

    There in the ground His body lay
    Light of the world by darkness slain
    Then bursting forth in glorious Day
    Up from the grave He rose again
    And as He stands in victory
    Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
    For I am His and He is mine
    Bought with the precious blood of Christ

    No guilt of life, no fear in death
    This is the power of Christ in me
    From life's first cry to final breath
    Jesus commands my destiny
    No power of hell, no scheme of man
    Can ever pluck me from His hand
    Till He returns or calls me home
    Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

    I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
    No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

    I need Thee, O I need Thee;
    Every hour I need Thee;
    O bless me now, my Savior,
    I come to Thee.

    I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
    Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.

    I need Thee, O I need Thee;
    Every hour I need Thee;
    O bless me now, my Savior,
    I come to Thee.

    I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
    Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain.

    I need Thee, O I need Thee;
    Every hour I need Thee;
    O bless me now, my Savior,
    I come to Thee.

    I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
    And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

    I need Thee, O I need Thee;
    Every hour I need Thee;
    O bless me now, my Savior,
    I come to Thee.

    I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
    O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessèd Son.

    I need Thee, O I need Thee;
    Every hour I need Thee;
    O bless me now, my Savior,
    I come to Thee.

    Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
    Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee;
    Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty
    God in three persons, blessed Trinity.

    Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
    Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
    Cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
    Who was and is and evermore shall be.

    Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
    Though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see;
    Only thou art holy, there is none beside thee
    Perfect in power, in love and purity.

    Holy, holy holy! Lord God Almighty!
    All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea
    Holy, holy holy! Merciful and mighty!
    God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

    ...

    He is holy.

    Today is a good day.

    Looking outside my dorm window and seeing the sun rising in the sky and bringing light to the campus I'm reminded that today is one of a kind. Today is the day the Lord has made. God has prepared this day from the beginning of time... and here it is!

    I wonder what God has in store...What adventures will I have today? What will God show me? Who will I talk to today?

    Then I wonder... How can I make the most of today? What doors will be opened today? Will I see the open door? Will I take it?

    All glory be to God this day. Thank you for who You are. Give me boldness. Let me not waste a single moment. May my thoughts be filled with You.

    Name above all names

    You are worthy of all praise

    And my heart will sing

    How great is our God
